STIR (2011)
Thomas Hall & Mark Parry

Shown at the Digital Futures In Dance Conference, Bournemouth 2011.

‘STIR’ is a reworking of the large scale interactive installation (Top Shot). ‘Stir’ allows the viewer to manipulate and actively interact with kaleidoscopic and geometric patterns of dancers, reminiscent of the overhead camera technique (top shot) proliferated by the films of Busby Berkeley. In the large scale version viewers use their whole body to join the dancers on the silver screen, here they use their hands and arms to augment sequences and patterns of dancers projected upon the floor.
